Ultrasonic Sensor Based Automatic Hand Sanitizer kit
Automatic Hand sanitizer Dispenser machines are very easy to use and are very important in shops, offices, Industries, public places and now even at homes. Keeping this in mind we have made a complete kit for making an automatic hand sanitizer at home. This kit provides all the required components and connectors required to make automatic hand sanitizer or automatic soap dispenser.
A complete video on how to assemble this DIY Automatic Hand Sanitizer kit is shown below
Touchless hand sanitizer dispenser Machine made by this DIY KIT can be used to dispense Sanitizer as well as Liquid Soap. This DIY dispenser kit is very easy to assemble and even 12 year old can assemble this DIY kit under elders supervision.
This Ultrasonic dispenser circuit has provision to set the dispensing time using a multi-turn potentiometer. The dispensing time can be varied from 0.1 to 5 seconds. So if a user places his hands the circuit will Turn ON the pump for the set timing and then will automatically turn it off even if the hand is still placed thus saving the amount of sanitizer that is being being dispensed.
We have provided 3 mm drill holes to the Hand Sanitizer Circuit for easy mounting. Also the ultrasonic sensor module has a special custom designed metal plate for easy mounting it in the sanitizer dispenser machine. Most of the low cost Automatic Hand Sanitizer DIY kits available are based of IR sensor which are sensitive to sunlight and so do not work outdoor. Considering this condition in mind we have developed this DIY Hand Sanitizer Dispenser kit. Our Ultrasonic Sensor Sanitizer Dispenser works Indoor as well as Outdoor in Sunlight unlike the IR proximity sensor circuits.
This Microcontroller based Touchless hand sanitizer dispenser kit is very easy to use and can be used even by school and college students, hobbyist to make their own Automatic hand sanitizer machine at home for personal use. Automatic Hand Sanitizer Dispenser Kit can be easily assembled by 12 year old kids and is a perfect gift for kids who are curious and like Electronics.

BLOCK DIAGRAM OF THE DIY Automatic Hand Sanitizer Kit
We are providing 230 Volts mains to the DC Adapter. DC Adapter converts 230 volts AC into 5 volts DC which is required for the Microcontroller, Ultrasonic Sensor as well as the same 5 volts is provided to the DC Submersible pump. We are using 1 Ampere high quality industrial grade adapter as the current required by the pump is around 300-600ma and the current may increase if when thepump starts.

Microcontroller Based Dispenser Board
In this we have used Atmega8A microcontroller which is a 28 pin AVR microcontroller. We are providing directly 5 volts from the adapter so we do not need any extra power on board voltage regulators. The Microcontroller also communicated with the utrasonic sensor and checks if a hand is placed and accordingly turns ON the pump. A power transistor (TIP122) is used to drive the Pump which is mounted on the controller board itself.
We have used an external 16 MHz Crystal to provide the necessary clock pulses to the microcontroller. Two 22pf capacitors are connected they are used to load the crystal so that the crystal oscillates at the correct frequency.
The controller cannot directly Turn ON/OFF the pump i.e. it cannot provide the necessary current required to drive the pump so we have used a power transistor TIP122 in between. The controller turns ON the power transistor which in turn Turns ON the pump and provides the necessary current required for the pump. The power transistor that we have used can provide upto 5 Ampere continuous current and a peak current of 8 amperes.
We have used a 3 volts – 6 volts submersible pump for sanitizer/Soap water dispensing we can use any other submersible as well as non submersible pump which works on 5 volts.
Ultrasonic Sensor is used to sense if hand is placed or not. The microcontroller communicates with the ultrasonic Sensor and calculates the distance at which hand is placed. We have used ultrasonic Sensor as it can work indoor as well as outdoor and even in sunlight. Also it can give the exact distance at which hand is placed.
We will be providing Circuit diagram, Block Diagram and Algorithm along with the kit.
