Step Down or Buck Converter

In this type of converter module the voltage is stepped down i.e. the Output Voltage is less than the Input voltage.

Step Up or Boost Converter

In this type of converter module the voltage is stepped up i.e. the Output Voltage is more than the Input voltage.

Buck-Boost or CUK Converter

In this type of Converter the Output voltage remains the same irrespective of the input voltage i.e. the module output voltage does not vary if the input voltage goes above or even below the output voltage.
